How to Create a Google Blog (Blogger) | Getting Started with Blogspot – Part 1

Today I finally created my very first Google Blogspot blog 😊

Since it’s my first time using this platform, it still feels a little unfamiliar and I’m still getting used to it. But once I actually started, it turned out to be easier than I expected. I thought it might be helpful for beginners like me, so I decided to organize the blog creation process step by step.

There were a few parts that were a little confusing at first, but by following each step one by one, I was able to complete it pretty quickly. In this post, I’ll explain everything in order—from creating an account to setting up your blog—so that even beginners can easily follow along.

What is Blogspot?
Blogspot refers to the address (domain) format used by Blogger, which is a free blogging platform operated by Google.

Anyone with a Google account can create a blog without any cost, and the default address is created in the format ○○○.blogspot.com.

Blogspot provides an easy writing interface and a variety of themes (design templates), making it simple even for beginners to start blogging. Since it runs on Google’s system, you don’t need to manage a separate server and the platform is very stable.

Another advantage is that it can be connected with Google AdSense, Google’s advertising service. This means that once your blog gains visitors, you may also be able to generate advertising revenue.

Although it’s free, Blogspot offers powerful features. In particular, it is often used by people starting profit-oriented blogs because posts can be indexed relatively quickly on Google’s search engine.

How to Create a Blogspot Blog (Step 1)
1️⃣ Create a Google Account and Visit the Blogspot Homepage
(Homepage link: https://www.blogger.com)

To start using Blogspot, you first need a Google account.
If you don’t have one yet, please sign up and create an account first.

Once your Google account is ready, go to the Blogspot homepage.
You can search for “Blogspot” on Google or directly visit the official blogging platform Blogger.

After accessing the homepage, simply log in with your Google account and you will be taken directly to the blog creation screen.

How to Create a Blogspot Blog (Step 2)
② Enter Your Blog Information

When you enter the blog creation page, you will first set up your Blog Name, Blog Address (URL), and Display Name.

Although these can be changed later, it’s better to decide them carefully when you first start your blog because they may affect search visibility.

For example, let’s say I run my blog with the concept “A Helpful Older Sister.”

1️⃣ Blog Name
The blog name is the title that visitors see first.
Since it can also influence search results, it’s better to include your blog’s topic.

Example:
A Helpful Older Sister’s Life Tips

Including a keyword like “life tips” can help with search exposure.

2️⃣ Blog Address (URL)
The blog address will be created in the format ○○○.blogspot.com.
It must be written in lowercase English letters, and you cannot use an address that is already taken.

Example:
aneununnilife
